In 2015 Knowle Lodge No 8001 celebrated its Golden Jubilee with a commemoration meeting on Tuesday 26th May and the Worshipful Master for that meeting was W.Bro Norman Jewitt.
The Consecration of Knowle Lodge No 8001 too place at the Edgbaston Assembly rooms in Birmingham on Wednesday 26th of May 1965 and its first Worshipful Master was W.Bro A.B.Watson PM 1180, PProvSGW.
Now in its 59th year, the Worshipful Master for the ensuing year 2024/2025, is W.Bro David Hall. His installation took place at our 346th Regular meeting at the Knowle Masonic Centre in April 2024.
The first Regular meeting was held at the Red Lion pub in Knowle village on 18th of October 1965 with 16 members and by the end of its first year numbers had increased by 50%.
After 25 years, at our Silver Jubilee, we had 56 members and in 2012 we gained 9 joining members from Oaks of Arden lodge who regrettably surrendered their warrant that year.
Currently our longest serving member is W.Bro Jim Fell, the son of one of our founding members W.Bro Stuart Fell.
Apart from Masonic meetings, the Lodge maintains a happy social calendar, by having Ladies Evenings, BBQ’s, Picnics, bowls nights and quizzes and one highlight of the Masonic regular meeting s is our Burns Night in January, with an enviable reputation and in particular the Address To The Haggis by W.Bro Grieg Young, which never fails to impress!
